two-day Mug workshop
Sept 19th-20th 2026
2-5pm
Make your very own set of two mugs in this two day workshop! This will be a small group of up to nine students, so whether you are totally new to clay or wanting to really perfect your handle-making skills, you can expect individual guidance throughout this workshop to help you reach your goals.
Day 1 (Saturday, Sept 19th)
On the first day you will be working on the pottery wheel making the body of your mugs. You can spend this class practicing on the wheel and making multiple pieces until you get the hang of it! At the end of the day, you will keep two vessels that you will turn into mugs the following day.
Day 2 (Sunday, Sept 20th)
On Day 2 you will clean up the bottom of your mugs, create and attach handles, and you may also spend some time decorating, painting, or adorning your mugs in any way you want! Your mugs will need to go through an initial firing in the kiln before they can be glazed, so we will take care of the glazing for you. At the end of the class on Sunday you will have the opportunity to choose a single glaze color for each mug that we will glaze them with.
Pricing
Non Members $165
FCS Members $140
At the conclusion of this workshop, your pieces will dry for 1-2 weeks, after which they will be bisque fired, carefully glazed, fired in the kiln once more, and then packed up by us. Your finished pieces will be ready to pick up in roughly 6 weeks.
