three week clay intensive
December 2026
6-9pm
Want to spend some time in the studio learning, experimenting, and working with clay, but aren't able to commit to a full Six Week Course? Surely you can commit to just three weeks! Consider this your excuse to carve out some time for yourself, make a little room for creativity, and spend some much needed time playing with clay.
Whether you're brand new to ceramics or looking to take your existing skills a little further, we have a class for you. Choose from beginner wheel throwing, intermediate wheel throwing, or all skill levels hand building.
These shorter courses include many of the same perks as our Six Week Classes, including small class sizes, individual attention from your instructor, additional studio time outside of class, and now a private glazing session where you'll return to glaze your finished work.
Class Offerings
Hand Building with Heather (All Skill Levels)
Learn the fundamentals of hand building or refine your current skills! Explore techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab construction to create functional pottery and sculptural forms. Have an ambitious project in mind but aren't quite sure how to approach it? Bring your ideas to class! Heather will help you work through the techniques and steps needed to turn your ideas into reality.
Wheel Throwing with Chloe (Beginner)
Ready to give the pottery wheel a try? This beginner-friendly series will introduce you to the fundamentals of wheel throwing. Learn how to prepare and wedge your clay, center on the wheel, and shape your first vessels. You'll build confidence through hands on practice and have plenty of time to experiment, make mistakes, and get comfortable with the process. No prior experience necessary!
Wheel Throwing with Jerzy (Intermediate)
Already comfortable wedging, centering, and throwing basic forms on the wheel? This intermediate series is designed to help you move beyond the fundamentals and develop greater control and consistency in your work. Build on your existing skills and spend some time working through whatever stage you are struggling with: Creating taller pieces, more even walls, or just gaining more control on the wheel. This is a great opportunity to work through new challenges with individualized guidance from your instructor.
