Join us at Four Circle Studio for one of our Sumer Clay Camps! Each camp is designed to be completely beginner friendly- An engaging and creative introduction to ceramics through various prompts and projects. Hand building and wheel throwing options are available. Students will learn various building, decorating and glazing techniques, and make several projects to take home. All pieces will be fired in the kiln and clear glazed by us after the completion of each camp. Projects can be picked up from the studio roughly 3 weeks after the last day of camp. This period of time allows for sufficient drying before pieces are fired in the kiln- avoiding explosions in the kiln is our priority!

❋ Materials

All materials, including clay, glazes, and tools are included. No hidden costs!

❋ Registration

Registration opens Monday, May 11th at 10am for all four camps. Registration will close one week before the start of each camp. Scroll down to sign up!

❋ Cancellation Policy

If a written notice of cancellation is sent to studio@fourcirclestudio.com at least two weeks before your camp start date you will receive a 50% refund of your camp registration fee. No refunds will be issued after this date. Although we do not want to, we reserve the right to cancel any camp due to low enrollment- In these cases students will receive a full refund.

❋ Group Size

Each Clay Camp will be limited to a small group of ten students. You can expect individual guidance and attention during every session!

❋ Age Requirement

Clay Camp is structured for children ages 9-16 at the start of camp; children ages 8 and under will not be admitted. Camp curriculum is designed specifically for the needs and interests of the corresponding age group.

Hand Building vs. Wheel Throwing

Ages 9-12 or 13-16

In the Hand Building Camp students will learn coiling, slab building, and solid building techniques through a variety of structured, creative prompts. Projects will include functional, sculptural, and decorative pieces.

Ages 13-16

In the Wheel Throwing Camp students will learn the basics of making functional pottery on the wheel. Pieces may include bowls, cups, plates, and a variety of other dishes. Students will also discover ways to personalize pieces through surface decoration techniques such as painting and carving. Because of its higher difficulty level and physical size requirements, wheel throwing groups will be limited to the 13-16 age range.
