Papel Picado Trivet Workshop
Join us for our Papel Picado Trivet Workshop!
In this 2.5-hour class, you’ll create your own ceramic trivet inspired by traditional Papel Picado designs. This workshop honors Día de los Muertos through creativity, community, and clay.
We’ll start with a short demo covering carving, and sgraffito techniques. From there, you’ll get hands-on shaping and decorating your piece. You can bring your own design ideas, freehand your pattern, or use one of our Papel Picado-inspired templates for guidance.
Your finished trivet will be both beautiful and functional—the perfect handmade touch for your kitchen, dining table, or holiday gatherings. All materials, including clay, underglaze, and tools, are provided.
After shaping and decorating your piece, you’ll leave it with us to be glazed and fired. Finished work will be ready for pickup in about 6–8 weeks.
This workshop takes place Sunday, November 2nd, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Please arrive 10 minutes early to get settled before we begin.
✨ 15% of proceeds will be donated to FIEL Houston, an immigrant-led organization that supports local youth and families through education, advocacy, and legal assistance.
Space is limited to 18 participants—reserve your spot and come ready to create something meaningful!
